Moments after he arrived at the table, Jérémy Cauchard opened to 1,100 from early position. Thibaut Zver on the button three-bet to 3,600 and was called by Quentin Roussey in the small blind, while last night's Battle Royale winner Hervé Gouzil folded. "Nice table here," he joked. Cauchard folded as well.
The dealer fanned a flop of A♣Q♥J♠ and Roussey check-folded when Zver made his continuation bet.
In the next hand, Cauchard and Zver limped but Roussey on the button three-bet to 3,200 to make them folded.
Roussey then opened to 1,100 from the cutoff and Cauchard defended from the big blind. Roussey bet 900 on 2♣6♥Q♣ and was called, then fired a second barrel to 2,600 on the J♣ turn. Cauchard check called.
