Berry Gets Paid Big

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

We found Will Berry firing a bet of 8,000 with about 13,000 in the middle on a completed board of {3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Chris Luna, on Berry's right, thought long and hard about his decision. Finally, he tossed in a call. Berry rolled over {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for a set and Luna winged his cards muckward.

Players are on break for 15 minutes.

Jose Montes Pressures, Builds Stack

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jose Montes was in the small blind against a lone opponent in the big blind. The flop was {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades}, Montes fired out a bet and the big blind quickly called before we could count it. The turn came {Q-Spades}, Montes bet 3,500 and the big blind thought for a bit before mucking his cards.

Montes quickly doubled his stack since we passed by him an hour ago.

Mermelstein vs Reason

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Ben Reason
Ben Reason

Ben Reason is seated directly to Aaron Mermelstein's left and it seems that they've been avoiding each other most the day. But we just found them locked up in a hand with Reason on the button. There was around 10,000 in the pot heading to the river with the board showing {J-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

The river came {9-Spades}, Mermelstein bet 4,500 after a long thought process and Reason took some time of his own to consider his action. He tossed in a call, Mermelstein tabled pocket eights and Reason rolled over {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for top pair and stacked the pot.
