Welcome to Day 1c of WinStar River Poker Series Main Event
Two Day 1 flights are in the books in the $2.5 million guaranteed, $2,500 Main Event at WinStar River Poker Series, located just north of Dallas on the Texas-Oklahoma border.
Thus far, 53 players have punched Day 2 tickets, advancing to Monday with chips securely placed in bags. Andy Philachack and Mike Wang have paced their respective fields the last two days, with Philachack holding the overall lead near 1 million in chips.
The total number of players through two Day 1s is up to 624, so there is still a ways to go for the tournament to reach the guarantee. That said, Day 1c is expected to be the biggest starting flight yet, so whether the tournament can match last year's 1,164 runners will be something to keep a close eye on.
Once again, things begin at noon local time today with each player starting with a stack of 25,000 and blinds beginning at 50/100. Unlimited reentry is allowed through the dinner break that follows Level 9, and play is scheduled to continue until just 10 percent of the field remains, however late that may be. The past two days have finished well past 2 a.m., so expect a long, action-packed day of poker, with all of the relevant updates available right here on PokerNews.
