Chris Moneymaker Doesn't Love It

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Chris Moneymaker opened under the gun to 1,025 and got three callers.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Spades} and the action checked to Moneymaker, who bet 2,300. He got one caller from the small blind.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and both players checked. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and the small blind led for 3,200.

"You got the spades?" Moneymaker asked.

It seemed he never really considered folding, but wasn't super happy about calling. His opponent showed only a {j-}{9-} and Moneymaker took down the pot with {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for two pair.

Vo Eliminates One

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

After an open to 1,100 and a call from the cutoff, Viet Vo made it 4,000 to go in the big blind. The opener crammed for about 8,200, forcing the squeezed player to fold, and Vo called.

Vo: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Spades}, leaving the ace-high best.

Vo got 31st in this event last year and is looking for another deep run.

Players are now on break for 15 minutes.

Michael Foley Gets the Rest of Chris Staats' Stack

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Chris Staats had been struggling to get much going today. Earlier he was convinced that his neighbor to the right, James Mordue was going to take all his chips, shortly after losing with {a-}{q-} to Mordue's {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Staats was all in with one player calling behind him. Staats had just 3,975 and Michael Foley shoved over the top for 30,750 total. The original caller folded what appeared to be pocket tens and Foley showed {a-}{a-}. Staats had {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} but couldn't connect with the flop or the turn and was drawing dead to the river.

It is likely we will see Staats back in the field shortly, meanwhile Foley is now over 40,000 chips and sitting comfortably.

Ray Qartomy Doubles and Then Some

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Ray Qartomy
Ray Qartomy

Ray Qartomy is on at least his second bullet today and on the very first hand coming back he was all in with a shove behind and Justin Kruger was in the tank.

Kruger retold the action to this point. He said five players were in for 800 preflop before he raised to 4,200 from the small blind. Qartomy and another player both called.

The flop was {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Kruger bet 7,200. Both players called. The turn was the {7-Hearts} and Kruger bet 14,000. Qartomy called for slightly less and the player on the button shoved all in. That's what put Kruger in the tank and he would eventually fold pocket aces.

Qartomy showed a full house with {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and was against trip sevens, his opponent held {10-Hearts}{7-Spades} for trips. Qartomy held through the river and won the pot for a nice double up and then some on his first hand this bullet.
