Green Lays Down a Royal Draw

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

There was a limp from early position and Brian Green raised it up to 1,300 from the cutoff. The small blind just flat-called and the limper called as well. The dealer fanned the flop of {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and the action checked to Green.

He tossed in a continuation bet of 2,000 and the small blind shoved all in for around 12,000. With the action back on Green, he thought for a moment and folded the {10-Diamonds} for a royal flush draw. His opponent responded by showing {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} for a set of aces and Green tapped the table.

Green Takes a Big Hit

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

On a completed board of {k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Brian Green was on the button and facing a bet of 10,000 from an opponent in middle position. Green splashed in all of his big chips to put his opponent all in for about 10,000 more, and that player quickly called it off.

Green turned over {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for trips, but they were no good against {k-}{k-} for a full house.

"Should have just called," Green muttered.

Rettenmaier Gets Caught Up in a Monster Pot

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

With the flop reading {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, there were still five players alive in the hand. The action checked to Marvin Rettenmaier in middle position who bet 3,000. His opponent on his left called while the cutoff raised to 10,000. The action folded to Orlando Romero in early position who re-raised to 27,000. Rettenmaier shoved all in for around 35,000 and the cutoff also pushed all in for his remaining 23,500. Romero called having both players covered.

Marvin Rettenmaier: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Orlando Romero: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Cutoff: {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

In what looked to be a good flop for Rettenmaier, quickly turned into a disaster when the cards were tabled. The turn brought the {10-Clubs} giving Romero the nut flush but the {5-Spades} paired the board on the river. The cutoff made a full house to take the main pot of around 80,000 while Romero scooped the side pot. Rettenmaier was forced to head to the registration desk for a re-entry.

Wang Picks Up a Small Pot

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Michael Wang
Michael Wang

Michael Wang has recently taken his seat in the field and has not shied away from playing any pots. After losing some chips in his first few hands, Wang went heads-up to a flop of {q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades} from the big blind. He checked and his opponent checked behind.

The {q-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn and Wang led out for 500. His opponent called from the hijack and the {10-Clubs} completed the board. Wang tossed in a bet of 1,025 and his opponent grabbed the chips to call, but soon elected to lay his hand down.

Rivas III Coolers Hirons

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

After arriving at the table, Joe Rivas III and Larry Hirons had their cards face up on the table with the flop already spread out. Rivas III showed {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} while Hirons held {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. The flop read {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} giving both players a set but Rivas III was well out front with a set of aces.

Hirons was left drawing to the single jack remaining in the deck but the {9-Diamonds} on the turn nor the {8-Clubs} on the river were of any help. Rivas III was the player at risk for 20,300 which left Hirons with just 4,900 after the hand.
