Lowery Recovers Some Chips

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Dan Lowery has been leading the field with over 100,000 chips for quite some time now, but recently saw his stack fall back into the five-figure mark. However, with around 15,000 in the middle, Lowery went heads up to the flop of {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}.

His opponent led out for 10,000 and Lowery stuck in a stack of T5,000 chips, enough to put his opponent at risk for his remaining 22,500 chips. He thought for a minute and then made the call, only to see a bad result. Lowery turned over {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} while his opponent tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and the river brought the {6-Hearts}, securing the win for Lowery and eliminating his opponent.

Shanna Gathright
Shanna Gathright

Shanna Gathright in the big blind and Bart Bogard in the small saw a board of {3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{q-Spades}{9-Hearts} on fourth and both players checked. Bogard came out betting with 6,000 on the {q-Clubs} river and Gathright tanked awhile before tossing in a call for a good chunk of her remaining chips.

Bogard showed {8-}{8-} and took the pot with queens and eights.

Cho Gets a Fold from Ho

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Maria Ho raised to 1,200 from middle position and was called by three players. The flop came {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and the small blind checked to Ho who continued for 2,600. The hijack called and Joon Cho also called from the cutoff.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Ho fired another 7,000. The hijack quickly folded but Cho raised to 17,000. Ho stuck around to see the {3-Spades} on the river and then tapped the table. Cho put together a bet of 25,400 and Ho eventually slid her cards to the muck.

Arthur Morris stuck his last 5,250 in from the small blind over a middle-position open by Joe Elpayaa, who called with {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Morris had {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and was dominated but found an ace on the flop and a seven on the turn to double up with two pair.

Lowery Lets Eskandar Have One

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Dan Lowery and Patrick Eskandar built a pot of 11,000 heading to the turn, and Lowery bet 5,700 from the big blind on {7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Eskandar put in 11,050, not quite enough, which was adjusted to 11,400. It was most of his remaining chips and Lowery opted to lay it down.
