Saechao Eliminates Rettenmaier

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Kao Saechao
Kao Saechao

Marvin Rettenmaier shoved all in from the button for 6,400 when action folded to him. Kao Saechao called in the small blind with {a-}{9-} and was up against {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Rettenmaier paired instantly with a {5-} in the window but it was followed by {a-}{k-}. The turn was a {10-} and the river an {8-} and the two-time WPT champ went bust.

Minkin "Scares" Her Opponent Off

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Kelly Minkin opened to 2,000 from middle position and the next player to act made it 6,000 to go. The action folded back to Minkin who called to go heads-up to the flop.

The dealer fanned {j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and both players checked to the {q-Hearts} on the turn. Minkin tossed in a small bet of 4,000 and her opponent hummed before sliding his cards to the muck.

"You scare me," he said to Minkin.

"Don't be scared! I probably just have something like ace-three with the ace of hearts."

Ma Check-Raises and Takes

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Steve Ma bet 3,000 from early position on {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and a player on the button called. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Ma checked. His opponent bet 5,000 and Ma responded with an all-in check-raise to 22,500. He took down the pot after sweating it for about a minute.

Ho Folds Out Baranowski

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

On a completed board of {5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}, Maria Ho put all her chips in from the big blind. It was enough to put small blind Dean Baranowski in for about 11,000 into a pot of around 25,000. Baranowski thought awhile and found the fold button.

Kessler Can't Win the Flip

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Allen Kessler got his stack of about 28,000 in preflop with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and was racing against an opponent holding {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. The {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop gave Kessler some extra outs but killed some that he started with. The {4-Spades} turn didn't help him, and the {k-Clubs} river did pair him but made a flush for his opponent.

"Chainsaw" headed for the registration desk and reentered.

Alexander Sends One Home

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Faced with an all in for 7,400 from early position, DJ Alexander stuck in the last of his 8,100 chips as well. The rest of the table folded and the two remaining hands were tabled.

DJ Alexander: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Alexander was in a dominating position and the flop of {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades} improved his odds even more. The {6-Diamonds} on the turn left his opponent drawing dead to the {q-Spades} on the river. Alexander eliminated his opponent and doubled his stack in the process.
