Davis Makes a Believer Out of a Foe

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

From the cutoff, Brian Davis bet 4,500 into a pot of 5,000 on a {7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} board, and his lone opponent on the button made the call.

The {5-Spades} fell on the river, and Davis flicked in two 5k chips, a bet of 10,000.

"Man...I really don't believe you," the button told Davis. A few moments later, the button called, and Davis showed {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for top two pair. The button flashed his {k-Spades}{q-Spades} before mucking, and Davis took down the pot.

Barb Visher
Barb Visher

Action was then heads up as the turn fell {3-Spades}. The big blind checked to Visher, who bet another 1,800 and was called.

The river was {5-Clubs}. The big blind checked once more and Visher threw out a third barrel for 2,400. Her opponent quickly sent his cards to the muck and she was awarded the pot.

Khairkhah's Busted Flush Draw Bests Minkin's

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

The dealer was in the process of collecting 3,500 from in front of both Kelly Minkin, who was in the small blind, and Dariush Khairkhah, who was in middle position after the turn on a board of {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Both players checked the river {6-Diamonds}.

Upon checking back, Khairkhah tabled {k-Spades}{5-Spades} for a king kicker of his busted flush draw to the board's two pair. Minkin picked up her hand, flashing {j-Spades}{10-Spades} across the table at Khairkhah before putting it back onto the felt and sending it to the muck.

Grubbs Doubles With the Nuts

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

With 8,000 already in the pot and the {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} board out on the felt, a player in middle position tossed in a bet of 6,000, only to be met with a shove from Ernest Grubbs in the cutoff for his last 11,200 total. The middle position player grimaced at the sight of the shove, but eventually made the call.

Grubbs tabled {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a king-high straight, and his opponent nodded and tabled {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} for a defeated set.
