Jaworski Gets a Double

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

There was 4,500 in a three-way pot between Michael Wang in the small blind, the player in the big blind, and Jon Jaworski, who was in early position. Wang checked and the big blind bet 2,000. Jaworski went all in for 8,100, sending Wang into the tank. Eventually he folded.

"Six point one more to call?" asked the big blind. The dealer confirmed. He threw out chips to call and the hands were turned up.

Jon Jaworski: {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Opponent: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Jaworski found his flopped pair of fours ahead of his opponent's two over cards and a gutshot to Broadway. The turn and river came {4-Spades}{j-Spades} and Jaworski secured the double, bringing him back near 20,000 after losing a chunk of chips to start the day.

George Makes a Straight

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

A player in early position bet 1,600 into a pot of around 2,500 on a board reading {q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} with two players behind him left to act. A player in middle position called, as did Gil George from the hijack.

The river came {10-Diamonds} and the early-position player bet another 6,000. The player in middle position folded and George called.

The aggressor tabled {8-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a rivered pair of tens and George turned over {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a straight, good for the pot as he now finds himself having increased his starting stack by over 50 percent early on Day 1.

Stringer's River Bet Succeeds

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

A player limped in from under the gun, and the player next to act raised to 500. A middle position player called, as did Bennie Stringer in the small blind, while the limper folded.

Stringer checked a {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop to the preflop raiser, who bet 700. Both the middle position player and Stringer called.

All three players checked the {6-Hearts} turn, and Stringer led out for 1,300 on the {10-Clubs} river. His opponents folded, and Stringer took down the pot.

Kim's Third Barrel Wins

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

A player in middle position opened to 300 and was called by Alex Kim, who was in the cutoff, and Shane Derrington out of the small blind. The three saw a flop of {5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Derrington and the original opener checked. Kim bet 1,000 and received a call by Derrington. The original raiser then folded.

The turn came {j-Clubs} and Derrington checked again. Kim bet 3,000 and Derrington called. The river fell {k-Hearts}. Derrington checked again, putting action on to Kim. He announced a bet of 4,000, throwing an oversized chip out in the process. Derrington confirmed the amount and thought for about a minute before releasing his cards to the muck.

Lai Wins Without Showdown

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Tekk Lai limped in from under the gun and was raised to 400 from the hijack. The player on the button called as well, as did the small blind to take action four ways to the flop {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Action checked to the hijack and he fired out a continuation-bet of 800. The player on the button folded and the small blind called.

Action was then back on Lai, who check-raised to 2,200. The hijack called and the small blind folded, to take action heads up to the turn {j-Diamonds}. Lai continued with another 2,700 and his opponent folded, resulting in the pot being sent his way.
