Quintis Simpson Eliminated in 19th Place ($13,580)

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Quintis Simpson
Quintis Simpson

Don Goodman jammed for 660,000 from the hijack, and Quintis Simpson called on the button, leaving himself 80,000 behind.

Don Goodman: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Quintis Simpson: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Goodman spiked a three on the {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop, and no queen would come on the {j-Hearts} turn or {4-Spades} river. Simpson's last 80,000 went in the next hand with king-nine against the jacks of Eric Bunch, and Bunch flopped jacks full to send Simpson home.

Keith Copp Eliminated in 21st Place ($13,580)

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Keith Copp
Keith Copp

Action folded around to Jeremy Liu, who was on the button and announced he was all in, effectively putting the two players in the blinds all in.

"Me too," said Keith Copp. Mykel Comroe folded his big blind.

Jeremy Liu: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Keith Copp: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Copp remarked that he had already been beaten by kings once before. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} to keep the situation unchanged. The turn fell {a-Clubs}, meaning that the two players had traded each others' outs. The river then fell {k-Spades} to give Liu Broadway, leaving Copp with a taste of deja vu as he was sent to the rail in 21st place.

Tekk Lai

Kris Burchfield raised to 80,000 from under the gun, and was called by James Mordue next to act, as well as Katherin Offutt in the small blind. Tekk Lai three-bet to 350,000 in the big blind, and Burchfield four-bet jammed for 1.6 million. Action folded back to Lai, who called off his 660,000 stack.

Tekk Lai: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Kris Burchfield: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Lai shook his head after the {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop gave Burchfield top set, and no queen fell on the {6-Diamonds} turn or {j-Hearts} river to send Lai packing.

Spencer Champlin raised to 90,000 from middle position, and James Jewell called on the button. Douglas Claybrook three-bet shoved for 555,000 in the small blind, Champlin called and Jewell folded.

Spencer Champlin: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Douglas Claybrook: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Claybrook picked up a gutshot on the {6-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop, but improved no further on the {9-Diamonds} turn or {6-Diamonds} river to bust.

Mark Kehrees
Mark Kehrees

Eric Bunch raised to 95,000 from under the gun, and Mark Kehrees, who had exactly 95,000 left in his stack, called it off in middle position. Mykel Comroe also called in the big blind.

Action checked through a {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} board, and Bunch showed {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, besting the {7-Spades}{6-Hearts} of Comroe and {k-Spades}{9-Spades} of Kehrees, and Kehrees hit the rail.

Champlin Finds a Massive Double Through Offutt

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Spencer Champlin
Spencer Champlin

Eric Bunch raised to 75,000 from early position, and Katherine Offutt called in the hijack. Spencer Champlin three-bet to 260,000 from the cutoff, and only Offutt called.

Offutt checked the {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop to Champlin, who bet 150,000. Offutt instantly called.

Both players checked the {k-Hearts} turn, and Offutt checked the {6-Hearts} river. Champlin jammed for 550,000, and Offutt snap-called. Champlin turned over {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} for kings-full, and Offutt showed her {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} had rivered a worse full house, costing her a huge chunk of her stack.

Minkin, Nguyen Latest to Fall

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Kelly Minkin
Kelly Minkin

Eluterio "Teo" Rodriguez raised to 75,000 from the hijack, then called after Kelly Minkin three-bet shoved for 425,000 in the big blind.

Kelly Minkin: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Eluterio Rodriguez: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Minkin winced after the {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop gave Rodriguez top pair, and she got no help on the {3-Spades} turn or {6-Diamonds} river to bust.

At the same time, Day 1b chip leader Quan Donot Nguyen was unable to run up the short stack after dinner, and busted as well.

Alagha Eliminates Defending Champion Pengelly

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Will Pengelly
Will Pengelly

Hesam Alagha opened to 38,000 from early position and saw action fold around to Will Pengelly, who three-bet to 90,000 from the small blind. Alaghathought for about a minute before Pengelly opened his mouth, telling Alaghathat he should either fold or shove; that calling was not an option. Alaghacalled.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{a-Spades} and Pengelly shoved all in for what was counted to be 295,000 into a pot of 212,000. Alaghathought again for about 30 seconds and verbalized a call.

Will Pengelly: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Hesam Alagha: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Alaghahad found his pair of aces firmly ahead of Pengelly's king-jack, needing to fade Pengelly's four Broadway outs or some running combination of kings and/or jacks. The turn came {j-Hearts} to give Pengelly a few more outs, but the river fell {9-Diamonds} and he found his hopes of repeating shattered just like that.

He made sure not to leave without remark, giving his best Phill Hellmuth as he left the table in frustration: "He called me with ace-two, honey!"

Brian Lee
Brian Lee

Eluterio "Teo" Rodriguez was seen pulling in the last of both Brian Lee and Scott Squyres chips with only his {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} remaining on the felt, and the two short stacks were already on their way to the payout desk.

With the double knockout, six tables remain as the field drops to 45 players left.
