Baker Flops the Nuts...So Does His Opponent

David "ODB" Baker opened to 3,200 under the gun. He was called by the players on the button and in the big blind, leading to a {5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop.

The player in the big blind led out 5,000, Baker called, and the player on the button popped it to 13,000. That chased out the player in the big blind, but not Baker. He asked how much the button had behind (about 18,000) and re-raised all in. The player on the button called immediately with {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for the nuts.

Baker tabled {6-Spades}{4-Spades} for the same straight and the pot was chopped after the {2-Clubs} turn and {A-Clubs} river.

Le Lets Short Stack Have It

Hien Le opened to 3,200 from under the gun and action folded all of the way around to the big blind. He tossed out a call and the flop came {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

The big blind checked and Le continued out for 7,000. The big blind moved his short stack all in for about 20,000 total and Le folded his hand, dropping his stack to about 130,000.

Tolbert Put to the Test

We arrived at Clint Tolbert's table and found him put to a decision for all of his chips on a {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop. There was only about 11,000 in the pot, not more than a standard raise and call preflop.

Tolbert had checked to his opponent who instantly shipped it in with a cover stack.

"Three Day 1's, right?" joked Tolbert. "Wow, I think I have only seen you play one hand."

With about 63,000 behind, Tolbert reluctantly folded his hand. His opponent showed {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} as he collected the pot.

Butler Serves Opponent Some Chips

We caught up to find chip leader Ashly Butler call the all in of another player at the table. Butler's opponent showed {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and was all in for his final 58,000. His pocket queens were way ahead of Butler's {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and stayed that way as the board ran out {7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Losing this pot has brought Butler's stack down to about 200,000 in chips which still solidifies his place as the current chip leader.

Headrick Takes A Big Pot and the Chip Lead

Picking up the action after a {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, Greg Headrick (who was in the big blind) checked to his early-positioned opponent who bet 10,000. Headrick put in a check-raise to 27,000, but his opponent came over the top to 57,000. Headrick mulled it over for about 20 seconds before re-raising all in.

His opponent, with roughly 65,000 behind, spent a good two minutes in the tank before giving up his hand.

Smith Takes a Hit

Action folded to Jordan Smith on the button and he moved all in for about 43,000. The player in the small blind called all in for 25,900.

Smith tabled {K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, trailing his opponent's {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. The flop came down {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} to give Smith the lead with a pair of kings. He maintained it through the {9-Clubs} turn, but the {J-Diamonds} landed on the river to give his opponent a winning set.
