Dolan vs. Gimbel

A pair of Floridians are seated at the same table and going to battle in Oklahoma.

We picked up the action after the {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} flop was dealt and John Dolan check-called 625 from Harrison Gimbel (a third player in the hand folded before Gimbel). The {5-Diamonds} landed on the turn and Dolan check-called 1,125 from Gimbel this time. The river delivered the {4-Hearts} and Dolan checked for a third time. Gimbel bet 2,325, Dolan called, and Gimbel tabled {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for aces and fours.

Dolan mucked, surrendering the pot to Gimbel.

Massey Loses One

Aaron Massey narrowly missed making Day 2 yesterday, lasting until the very late stages of Day 1a before busting.

He is back at it today and we caught him in a pot raising to 350 from the hijack after a player limped in middle position. The players on the button and in the big blind called, as did the limper, and the four of them saw a {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop.

Action was checked to Massey and he bet 700. Only the player on the button called to see the {A-Spades} turn where Massey bet 12,500. Another call from his opponent slowed down Massey when the {2-Hearts} fell on the river. His opponent bet 3,000, sending Massey into the tank for about 45 seconds before he folded.

"Choctaw" Off to Nice Start

Justin "Choctaw" Kruger is up to about 25,000 after picking up pocket aces.

He saw the flop with two players and both of opponents called his bet of 700 following a {7-}{4-}{3-} flop. Kruger fired 1,800 when a {J-} hit the turn, but one opponent put in a raise to 4,000 and chased out the other. Kruger called and check-called 5,000 when another {J-} hit the river.

Kruger tabled his {A-}{A-} while his opponent mucked and sent a good portion of his stack Kruger's way.

Ingles Looking For Redemption

Re-entry tournaments offer redemption for those whose first attempt did not go according to plan. For Jared Ingles, Day 1b certainly offers a chance at forgetting the bitter taste Day 1a left.

After roughly 12 hours of playing, Ingles bubbled making Day 2 (and the money) when he was eliminated in 42nd place of the 401 Day 1a runners. He is back in action on Day 1b and is no doubt looking to make Day 1a a distant memory.
