Andre St-Jean

Andre St-Jean open-jammed from mid-position for 101,000 and was put at risk by Adam Podstawka, calling from the big blind.

Podstawka: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
St-Jean: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

St-Jean was in trouble and was quickly sent to the payout desk to pick up his 8th place prize when the board ran out {2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{a-Spades}

Andre Pelletier was also short-stacked and got his last 7 big blinds in the middle preflop against Sasan Mehrabian.

Mehrabian: {9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Pelletier: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and not only did Mehrabian turn trip nines, he also rivered the nut flush and Pelletier was eliminated in 9th place.

Alim Ismail Eliminated in 10th Place ($180)

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Alim Ismail
Alim Ismail

Alim Ismail came back from the break with just over one big blind and moved all-in from middle position. Francois St Onge called from the small blind and Peter Johnson Messer called out of the big blind.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Spades} and St Onge bet 25,000. Messer called. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and St Onge moved all-in. Messer folded.

Ismail: {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}
St Onge: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Before the cards were even tabled Ismail said "I'm drawing dead," and sure enough, he was. The inconsequential {4-Hearts} on the river completed the board and sent Ismail to the rail in 10th place.

Huge Double Ups for St Onge and Le

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 1,500 ante

Just as action at the final table kicked off, Daniel Le got his stack in the middle against Sasan Mehrabian. Le was ahead with {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} against Mehrabian's {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The board ran out {k-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} and Le won with just ten high, his pair being counterfeited by the board.

just a couple hands later, Francois St Onge scored a big double up. St Onge three-bet shoved on an Alim Ismail open and Ismail put St Onge at risk. Unfortunately, for Ismail, St Onge had {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Ismail could only muster {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. A clean {5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts} board was fanned out and St Onge got the double, leaving Ismail with just one big blind.
