Nguyen Finds a Favorable Flop to Double

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Ha Van Nguyen moved all-in from under the gun for 65,000 and Gregory Hartwick called on the button.

Nguyen was at risk with {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, well behind Hartwick's {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

The flop came {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Nguyen took a commanding lead with trip tens. The turn was the {q-Clubs} to give Hartwick a straight draw but the river was the {5-Spades} and Nguyen held on.

Cossette With a 'Quack' Double

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Stuart Taylor raised to 8,500 from early position and action was on Frederic Cossette in the small blind. He moved all-in for his last 63,000 and the decision was back on Taylor. After several minutes of thought, he called.

Cossette was the player at risk with {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}, up against two ducks.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Cossett remained ahead with tens. The turn brought a third heart with the {j-Hearts} but neither player had one. The river was the {k-Spades} and Cossette held on to double through.

Ho Snaps-Off Lefort

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

A sizeable pot was brewing between chipleader Thomas Lefort and Tam Ho. The two were seated right next to each other and were on the turn of a {7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} board.

Lefort bet 55,000 and Ho called. The {a-Hearts} completed the board on the river and Lefort snap-shoved. Ho called just as quickly, putting himself at risk but Lefort only tabled {2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, playing the board, missing his flopped flush draw.

Ho turned over {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and dragged in the super-sized pot.

Malm Trips Up Labonte

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Michael Malm
Michael Malm

With about 25,000 in the pot, on a board reading {q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, Michael Malm bet 12,000 and Jake Labonte called on the button.

The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Malm paused for a moment before looking back at his cards. After a few moments of thought he called.

"Queen" said Malm, tabling {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} for trip queens with a jack kicker. Labonte mucked.
