Rivest Bumped by Simard

Level 26 : 50,000/50,000, 100,000 ante
Kevin Rivest
Kevin Rivest

On a board reading {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}, Kevin Rivest had about 900,000 behind in the big blind and got his remaining stack in the middle against Maurice Simard on the button.

Rivest tabled {j-Clubs}{9-Spades} for top pair, but ran into Simard's {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a set of threes. The turn was the {j-Diamonds} to give Rivest some outs to survive, but the river was the {8-Diamonds} to send him to the rail.

Lacasse Runs Into the Ladies to Bust

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Michel Lacasse
Michel Lacasse

Michel Lacasse raised to 250,000 from early position and Tomas Magni three-bet to 750,00 from the small blind. Lacasse called.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Magni open-shoved and Lacasse had a decision to make for his last 1,600,000. Eventually, he called.

Lacasse tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, up against Magni's {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. When Lacasse saw what he was up against he said, "Pocket dame (queen)? F***!"

The turn was the {4-Hearts} to give Lacasse a straight draw but the river was the {k-Clubs} and Lacasse was eliminated.

Just 16 players remain and they are now re-drawing for the final two tables.

Francesco Maltese Eliminated in 16th Place ($7,000)

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Francesco Maltese
Francesco Maltese

After Aaron Czaja opened to 225,000, Francesco Maltese moved all-in for 1,035,000 and Charles La Boissonniere four-bet jammed over the top forcing Czaja to fold.

Maltese: {q-Spades}{k-Clubs}
La Boissonniere: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Maltese was racing and things appeared to be on his side as a king in the door of a {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop. Sadly, for Maltese, there was an eight right behind it. The {q-Clubs} on the turn gave Maltese some outs but a blank {2-Spades} on the river eliminated him in 16th place.

Patience Pays for Breviglieri

Level 29 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Natalia Breviglieri
Natalia Breviglieri

Charles La Boissonniere raised to 430,000 from middle position and action folded to partypoker Team Pro Natalia Breviglieri on the button. She had just 1,380,000 chips left and decided to move them in the middle. La Boissonniere thought for a few seconds and called.

Natalia Breviglieri: {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Charles la Boissonniere: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The flop came {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Breviglieri extended her lead by pairing her ace while La Boissonniere picked up a straight draw. The turn was the {q-Hearts} to give La Boissonniere a pair of queens for more outs to improve but the river was the {j-Diamonds} and the Brit doubled through after patiently waiting to pick her spot.

Tomas Larivee Magni was all-in and at risk preflop against Natalia Breviglieri.

Magni: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Maurice Simard
Maurice Simard

Jason Mandanici-Turcot opened to 425,000 and called a three-bet jam from Maurice Simard with a very similar stack of about 4.6 million.

Simard: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Mandanici-Turcot: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

A race for a massive stack finished in favor of Mandanici-Turcot as his pair held through the {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

When the stacks were cut down, Simard had Mandanici-Turcot covered by just 25,000 and was eliminated in the small blind the very next hand.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Czaja flopped a set to take an overwhelming lead. The turn was the {7-Hearts} and Abdelhamid was drawing dead to the {3-Spades} on the river.

Michael Khan

Michael Khan moved all-in for 3,150,000 from the cutoff and Garrett Dansereau moved in over the top from the small blind.

"You moved all-in too quick. That's not good" said Khan as he tabled {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. He was right, as Dansereau showed {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} to have him dominated.

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Khan was eliminated in 11th place.
