Scott Montgomery raised to 1,000 from under the gun and got a call from Lance Perkins in the cutoff. Sylvain Siebert was on the button and three-bet to 5,000. Both Montgomery and Perkins called.
The flop came and all three players checked to the on the turn and then the on the river. Montgomery reached into his stack and fired out a bet worth 12,000. Perkins called but Siebert decided to rip his entire stack in the middle, putting Montgomery to the test for his stack worth 94,725. Montgomery looked confused, but clearly had a tough decision. Eventually, he called. Perkins folded.
Siebert tabled for just a pair of tens, and Montgomery tabled for a straight to scoop the double.
Francois Billard has had a decent summer and is looking to do some damage on home soil. The Canadian just came back from Barcelona after coming in 2nd place in the €10,300 No Limit Hold'em 8-Max event for €253,600. He battled with the likes of Ivan Luca, David Peters, Martin Jacobson and Liv Boeree on the final table, eventually falling to Goran Mandic heads-up.
Billard just booked a min-cash in the $5,300 High Roller here at Playground last week and looks to book a win in his home country.
On a board reading , with about 9,000 in the middle, Kathy Sawers checked from the small blind. Isaac Buswell was on the button and bet 5,500. Sawers called.
The turn was the and Sawers checked again. Buswell bet 9,000 this time and Sawers check-raised to 23,000. Buswell called.
The river was the and Sawers paused before putting out a bet of 40,000. Buswell thought for a moment and eventually shoved all-in, putting Sawers to the test for her stack of 103,600. Sawers snap-called and tabled for the nut straight.
Buswell paid the bet, and slid his cards forward, facedown. A player at the table asked to see the hand since it was an all-in and a call, and the dealer tabled for a pair of sixes.
