Breviglieri is Building a Stack in her First-Ever Cash on Canadian Soil

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Natalia Breviglieri
Natalia Breviglieri

Partypoker Team Pro Natalia Breviglieri just doubled up and explained what happened. Gary Lucci limped in and Matthew Wilkins raised to 125,000. The British pro shoved for 900,000 from the small blind and Lucci folded. Wilkins tanked for a while and eventually called.

Breviglieri tabled two aces and found herself in great shape against Wilkins' eights. The board ran out dry and Breviglieri held on to double to over two million in chips.

This is Breviglieri's first time in Canada, and after playing a few tournaments she has locked up her first cash on Canadian soil with some chips to work with as the tournament gets deeper.

Perceval Not a Be-Li-ever

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

With about 400,000 in the middle of a {j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs} board, Ruben Perceval bet 225,000 and Xiaoyu Li moved all-in.

After getting a count of 815,000, Perceval took a few moments before making the call.

Li tabled {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a full house and Perceval revealed {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, sending them into the muck.

Chao Gets Turned to Bust; Czaja on Top

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Sammy Chao
Sammy Chao

We got to the table as Sammy Chao was all-in on the button for about 800,000 and was called by Aaron Czaja in the small blind.

Chao was at risk with {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} on a board reading {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a flush. Czaja was live with {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for a set and needed the board to pair. Sure enough, the {6-Diamonds} hit the turn and Chao slammed his chips down in frustration before heading to the rail.

Czaja now has a monstrous 6,480,000 chips to take the chip lead.

Dick Downed by Dansereau

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Andrew Dick moved all-in from the hijack for his short-stack worth 295,000 and the player in the cutoff stared him down. "He's looking at me trying to get a read. My range is reaaaaaally wide right now. I could have any two cards" said Dick.

The cutoff folded and Garrett Dansereau called on the button.

"I hope you have pocket tens" said Dick. "Worse" said Dansereau as he tabled {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}. "Worse?" asked Dick excitedly, tabling {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a flip.

"Ace in the window!" said Dick. The dealer put out the flop and unfortunately for Dick it read {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} to give Dansereau a set. The turn was the {k-Clubs} and Dick picked up a straight draw, but the river was the {k-Diamonds} and he was eliminated.

Baron Doubles Through Pepin

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Alexandru Baron opened to 100,000 from early position and Daniel Pepin called from the big blind. The flop was {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Baron continued with a bet of 135,000. Pepin quickly check-raised to 700,000, enough to cover Baron, and Baron slid the rest of his stack forward.

Pepin: {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Baron: {10-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Baron had made the right read and just needed a fade Pepin'e up and down straight draw. The board completed {5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and baron raked in the pot, scoring a double up.

Guay is Gone

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
David Guay
David Guay

Action folded around to the player on the button and he decided to limp in. David Guay was in the small bind and paused for a moment before shoving for 1,290,000. Faisal Khan was in the big bind and asked for a count before deciding to call. The button quickly got out of the way.

David Guay: {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Faisal Khan: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Guay found himself in an unlucky position with an ace in the blinds, up against a better kicker. The board ran out {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Guay was eliminated.
