David Valcourt-Dube Dominates, Captures 50/50 Bounty Title For $4,405

The Bounty Hunter: Event #13 champion David Valcourt-Dube
The Bounty Hunter: Event #13 champion David Valcourt-Dube

Early Thursday morning, at the World Cup of Cards inside Playground Poker Club, David Valcourt-Dube collected his 16th bounty when he eliminated his final opponent. Valcourt-Dube topped a field of 260 en route to the Event #13: NL Hold'em Bounty title and a first-place prize of $4,405.

Once four-handed, the final four players agreed to an ICM based chop, leaving $300 and the trophy to play for. Here is a look at how the final table prize money was distributed:

1David Valcourt-Dube  $4,405
2Martin Nguyen  $3,285
3Garry Thompson  $3,445
4Bruno Visotzky-Bernier  $3,475
5Charan Malhotra  $1,710
6Rong Xu  $1,290
7Samuel Derosby-Tremblay  $970
8Tina Howie  $720
9Kuong Kuoch  $540
10Bichr Awad  $410

On the final hand of the night, Martin Nguyen shoved on the button and Valcourt-Dube called. Nguyen was in big trouble with {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, behind Valcourt-Dube's {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. The board ran out {10-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Valcourt-Dube's queen-high held.

Garry Thompson fell to Valcourt-Dube in third when his {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} was out drawn by Valcourt-Dube's {j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Bruno Visotzky-Bernier was another victim of Valcourt-Dube. Visotzky-Bernier shoved preflop with {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and was called by Valcourt-Dube with an ace. Valcourt paired his ace on the flop and Visotzky-Bernier busted in fourth.

Fifth-place finisher Charan Malhotra fell to Garry Thompson in unfortunate fashion. All-in preflop with the best of it, holding {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} to Thompson's {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Malhotra seen his tournament life slip away with each passing card. The board ran out {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades}{4-Spades}, giving Thompson a flush.

Rong Xu was eliminated soon after being crippled by Malhotra. Malhotra shoved all-in preflop with {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Xu called with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. The board ran out {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Malhotra spiked a deuce to double through. A couple hands later, Xu was all-in {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and was called by David Valcourt-Dube's {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Xu was ahead and needed to hold. Unfortunately Valcourt-Dube rivered a straight on a {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{a-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades} board and Xu was knocked out.

Samuel Derosby-Tremblay departed in seventh. The last woman standing, Tina Howie's deep run ended in eighth, and Valcourt-Dube's first bounty at the final table came from the elimination of Kuong Kuoch in ninth.

The final table got underway with a boom. A massive preflop, three-way all-in boosted Bruno Visotzky-Bernier into the chip lead. Bichr Awad shoved, Thompson moved all-in over the top, and Visotzky-Bernier called all-in. Visotzky-Bernier was way ahead with {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}, up against the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} of Thompson, and Awad's {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The board ran out {q-Spades}{k-Spades}{4-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Visotzky-Bernier scooped the entire pot, busting Awad, and doubling through Thompson.

The very popular event at Playground gathered a notable crowd. Event #3 winner Dave S made the money, bowing out in 18th place for $280, and Multiple NL Quantum flight qualifier David Cadoche earned the first payout, busting in 27th for $190.

Some notables failing to make the money include Jonathan Bussieres, Kathy Sawers, Rodney Ramalho, Charles La Boissonniere, Jason Conforti, and Andrew Boujaoude.
