Benoit Laurence
Benoit Laurence

Benoit Laurence bested a field of 249 players to win Event #28 of the World Cup of Cards at Playground Poker Club. In the end he beat Marco Simonetti heads up. The two got all in preflop, Laurence holding ace-queen against the king-ten of Simonetti. Neither player connected with the board and Laurence's ace-high was the best hand.

The players made a deal seven-handed and then, as per the Playground Poker Club's rules, played for $1,100. Below are payouts the players received and the order they finished in.

The tournament drew a large field and was a fitting end to the World Cup of Cards. The tournament series paid out over $2,000,000 in guarantees and prize money and a $8,000 Caribbean Poker Pary package to the Tournament Leaderboard Winner. Charles La Boissonniere essentially won the leaderboard at the start of the day, since no remaining players could catch up to him.
