Kathy Sawers Eliminated in 12th Place (CAD $300)

Kathy Sawers
Kathy Sawers

Kathy Sawers was eliminated in 12th place when she three-bet shoved on Michael Venne.

Venne opened the action with a raise to 55,000 from the cutoff and Sawers shoved all in from the big blind. Venne called and quickly tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Sawers was racing with {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}.

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Venne began to clap as the dealer pushed the pot his way. Sawers took home CAD $300 for her 12th place finish.

Francesco Maltese Eliminated in 13th Place

Francesco Maltese
Francesco Maltese

Francesco Maltese was eliminated in 13th place when he three-bet shoved his 100,000 remaining chips against Randy Khalil.

Khalil called with {k-}{10-} and was behind the {a-}{8-} of Maltese, but when the flop came {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, it was Maltese who needed help to keep going.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and that left Maltese drawing dead. Khalil is now over 300,000 with 12 players remaining.

In the Money, Richard Gagne Bubbles

Right when the 22nd player busted, Richard Gagne was paying off a double up to Alexander Matveev. He was left with just over 10,000 chips.

It only took Gagne two hands to get all in for his remaining chips and he was up against a big hand. Robert Gariepy had {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Gagne opened by shoving his remaining 12,000, barely more than a big blind, which was 10,000. Gariepy raised it to 35,000 and the remaining players folded.

The action was held while players at the other tables completed their hands.

At the table next door, Randy Khalil had shoved all in against Kathy Sawers. She eventually folded, which meant that Gagne would either double or be the stone bubble.

He showed {k-}{8-} and needed a lot of help to beat Gariepy's pocket aces. The flop gave that help when it came {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, giving Gagne two pair.

However, the turn was the {q-Spades} and the river was the {q-Diamonds}, which gave Gariepy a better two pair.
