Stephane Houle Flops the Nuts and Loses

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Stephane Houle
Stephane Houle

Stephane Houle just flopped the nuts and lost. On the next hand, he got all in for his tournament life and was behind, but managed to win the pot and double up.

Hand #1:
Houle was one of four players that saw the {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop. He checked and then Gary Lucci bet 25,000. Houle shoved all in for 170,000 and Lucci called. Lucci was at risk and behind with {10-}{10-} for a set of tens. Houle had flopped a straight with {k-}{q-}.

The turn was the {5-Clubs} and the river was the {5-Diamonds}, giving Lucci a full house and earning him the double up.

Hand #2:
Houle was on the button for the next hand and shoved all in for 34,000. Jeffrey Cormier was the big blind and he asked for a count. He called and showed {q-}{j-}, which was ahead of Houle's {q-}{7-}.

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, giving Houle the double up and keeping him in the tournament.

Stephane Houle
Stephane Houle

Denis Cyr got all in against Stephane Houle and won with {q-}{q-} against Houle's {a-}{k-}.

This time, Houle couldn't catch a pair with ace king to beat Cyr's queens. The board ran out {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Houle headed to the rail.
