Suchanek Chops with Woodhead

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Stephen Woodhead and Jan Suchanek saw the flop of {Q-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} when things escalated quickly and they got their stacks in. Suchanek was the player at risk with {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {3-Spades} and Woodhead looked him up with the {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} {Q-Spades}. The {J-Diamonds} on the turn guaranteed a split pot and the {4-Hearts} on the river was already meaningless.

Khoiuss Flushed

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

The action folded around to the player on the button who raised it up to 700 in chips. Sam Khouiss was in the blinds and opted to raise it up to 2,200. His opponent then moved all in for his last 5,525 and was immediately called.

Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Khoiuss: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Khoiuss was looking good to take out his opponent until the dealer spread out a {5-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Spades} flop. His opponent had flopped a flush and guaranteed himself the pot when the board ran out the {8-Clubs} and {j-Spades}.

Argyros Crunched by Tan

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante
Billy Argyros
Billy Argyros

On a flop of {7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}, Billy "The Croc" Argyros found himself all in against Darian Tan.

Argyros: {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Tan: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Although Argyros would be trailing, he would need any spade, ace, nine, seven, six or five to take the lead, but when the {2-Hearts} and {8-Clubs} filled out the turn and river, Argyros was left to head to the rail as Tan climbed to 26,000 in chips.

Esfandiari & Hachem Ousted

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante
Antonio Esfandiari
Antonio Esfandiari

Antonio Esfandiari recently fell to Vadim Pinsky, and while we didn't witness the hand, Tam Truong did and was kind enough to relate the story.

According to him, a player raised to 500, Pinsky called from the small blind, and a short-stacked Esfandiari called from the big, leaving himself just 150 behind in the process. The {q-}{j-}{7-} flop saw Pinsky check, Esfandiari bet all in, and two calls follow. The two active players then checked the {6-} turn and {2-} river. The original raiser showed {j-}{j-}{x-}{x-} for a flopped set, but it was no good as Pinsky had flopped a bigger set with {q-}{q-}{x-}{x-}. Esfandiari's hand remains a mystery as he mucked before exiting the tournament area.

Meanwhile, 2005 World Series of Poker champ Joe Hachem was eliminated from the tournament in unknown action.

Marcus Takes One Out

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Van Marcus limped into the pot from under the gun before Edison Nguyen raised it up to 900 from the button. The player on the big blind made the call, as did Marcus.

The flop came down {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and all three players checked. The {q-Clubs} on the turn saw the first player bet out 2,000. Marcus then potted forcing Nguyen out of the hand. The player in the blinds had just short of 5,000 and made the call.

Marcus: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The {7-Diamonds} on the river was no help for Marcus’ opponent as his two pair lost to a better two pair.

Wilkerson Eliminates Suchanek

Level 6 : 150/300, 0 ante

Action folded to Dylan Wilkerson on the button and he put in a raise. Jan Suchanek then three-bet from the small blind and called off when Wilkerson four-bet.

Wilkerson: {a-}{a-}{7-}{3-}
Suchanek: {q-}{q-}{a-}{j-}

Suchanek was unable to improve upon his queens and was eliminated from the tournament.

Chevalier Chips Up

Level 6 : 150/300, 0 ante

Zane Ly limped under the gun and was followed by four more calls; two of which were by Daniel Chevalier and Jason Gray.

The dealer spread a {7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop and the action checked to Chevalier on the button who opted to toss in a bet of 1,500. His opponents swiftly folded and Chevalier was pushed the pot to move to roughly 14,500 in chips.
