High Fives for Ward

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante
Michael Kanaan
Michael Kanaan

Michael Kanaan moved all in under the gun for his last 1,450 and received a call from Phil Ward in the hijack. The rest of the players folded and it was off to the races.

Kanaan: {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Ward: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

Kanaan was in need of some help, and he found some when he paired his queen on the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop. The {2-Clubs} turn meant all he needed to do to double was dodge a five on the river, but that proved easier said than done as the {5-Hearts} spiked. Kanaan let an expletive go and then made a hasty exit from the tournament floor.

Updated Chip Counts; Negreanu Enters

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Birman Booted

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

From under the gun, Paul Birman moved all in for 2,375 chips and got called by the player in the small blind.

Birman: {8-Clubs} {8-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}

The {A-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {K-Spades} flop immediately delivered the over card and the {J-Clubs} turn as well as the {Q-Hearts} river were of no help either. Birman smiled in defeat, wished everyone good luck and left the tournament area.

Not a Good Day at the Office

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

"Oh man, I trapped you. Busted flush draw maybe?" David Bowen was quite upset about the 3,500 bet of Aik-Chuan Nee out of the big blind on the river of a {5-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {5-Spades} {8-Spades} river and there were 2,600 chips in the middle. More than what Bowen still had. He kept talking himself into making a decision and eventually folded, heading disgruntled into the break.

No Miss Miracle

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

[Removed:17]'s ride in the Six Max event has come to an end, responsible for his elimination was Bruno Portaro. Yan, also known as "MissOracle", was at risk with {A-Clubs} {3-Clubs} for the nut flush draw on the flop but his opponent had spiked a set of sixes. Both the turn and river bricked and Yan was gone.

Disciplined Fold by Burns

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

On the {J-Spades} {6-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} turn, the player in the small blind check-raised all in for 4,900 chips and Kahle Burns eventually ended up folding after putting in 1,400 of his own chips. As courtesy, he got shown {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs} and said in table chat that he had folded {K-} {J-}. "If you had 1,000 chips less, I would have called," he said.

Higgs Doubles

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

With about 1,200 in the pot on the {K-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} board, Steve Gee bet, and then Sam Higgs raised all in for 1,550. Gee called with the {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for top pair, but he was behind the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} for Higgs.

The {7-Spades} completed the board on the river, and Higgs doubled up to back over 4,000 in chips. Gee dipped back to 9,000.

"Okay, I give you One"

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Mike Leah was the initial raiser preflop and called a bet of 600 of the player in the big blind on the {2-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {K-Spades} turn. The {K-Hearts} appeared on the river and his opponent threw in two red T-500 chips. Leah joked towards his opponent "okay, I give you one" and tossed in a T-1,000 chip to muck when shown {K-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}.
