Ward Busts to Ashby

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

Phil Ward raised to 600 and got one caller before Richard Ashby raised the pot to 2,700. Only ward called with about 8,000 behind and got the remainder of his stack in after a flop of {K-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {2-Clubs}. Ashby called with {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {3-Clubs} and Ward needed some help with {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {3-Hearts}.

The {5-Spades} on the turn bricked and the {K-Spades} on the river sent Ward to the rail.

Toothpick on the Comeback Trail

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

"Toothpick" Tony Kambouroglou got his stack of 8,750 all in preflop and was at risk against Ali Ghezelbash.

Ghezelbash: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Kambouroglou: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Kambouroglou was ahead with his kings, and they held after the board ran out a safe {2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}. Ship the double to Toothpick.

Hachem Doubles

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

A short-stacked Joe Hachem was at risk preflop with {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} and faced the {J-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {9-Clubs} of Jeff Rossiter. Hachem had little to worry on a flop of {10-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} and turn as well as river bricked too.

Bojang Cannot Bust the Toothpick

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

Ismael Bojang opened the action with a raise and got called one seat over before Tony Kambouroglou moved all in for his last 3,450 chips. Bojang isolated by raising the pot and the cold caller folded. "Well it's gonna be difficult to win this one," Bojang joked when he saw the {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {6-Spades} of his opponent and tabled his own {A-Spades} {7-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}.

There was no help on the {4-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {8-Clubs} flop nor the {K-Hearts} turn and "Tony Toothpick" made a flush with the {J-Hearts} on the river.

One for Marcus

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

Brian Rast opened for 700 from the cutoff and received calls from Van Marcus and Richard Ashby on the button and small blind respectively. Ashby then checked the {6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop, Rast continued for 1,500, and Marcus raised to 3,400. Ashby flatted, Rast folded, and it was heads-up action to the {K-Clubs} turn.

Ashby checked for a second time and then quickly folded his hand when Marcus bet 10,700, which was the size of the pot.

Pfutzenreuter busts to Lim

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

Aaron Lim just recently sat down and opened to 700 from under the gun. He found three callers including Timo Pfutzenreuter in the small blind and the latter got his remaining 10,000 chips all in after a betting war with Lim on a flop of {9-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {J-Clubs}. Lim looked him up with the {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {J-Spades} {9-Spades} and the German held {J-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}.

Pfutzenreuter picked up even more outs on the {10-Clubs} turn, but the {4-Diamonds} river was a brick.

Wang Gives Up

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

Michael Wang raised to 750 from the button and found one caller in Mike Watson from one seat over. On the {5-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {6-Hearts} flop, Watson checked and Wang made the continuation bet of 1,100. Watson check-raised to 2,500 rather quickly and sent Wang into the think tank. The American eventually surrendered after a good two minutes and mucked his cards.

Hellmuth Wasn't a 4-1 Favorite

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

Phil Hellmuth

We missed the elimination of Phil Hellmuth, but we learned after the fact that he got his short stack all in preflop against Sam Higgs.

Hellmuth: {a-}{q-}{j-}{9-}
Higgs: {k-}{k-}{8-}{7-}

The board ran out clean, and Hellmuth is now 0-5 at the 2014 WSOP APAC.

"Usually I'm about a 4-1 favorite when I play pots in Australia. Not that time," Hellmuth said before departing.

Kawauti Gets a Double

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

After three-way action preflop, only Bruno Kawauti and Tony Kambouroglou saw the {7-Hearts} {5-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {2-Spades} turn and Kawauti moved all in for his last 10,325 after the bet of Tony "Toothpick" in the very last hand of level four. The latter made the call and upon seeing the cards of his opponent tried to muck his own {5-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {7-Spades} {K-Clubs}. The dealer reminded him that the cards have to remain open until the final community card and that was the {8-Clubs}.

Kawauti was already secured the double up on the turn though, as he held {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {10-Clubs} for top set.
