Four Eliminations to the Money

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Mir Gaskari was down to around eleven blinds when he found a pair and went with it. The 55 were utterly crushed by Emilien Pitavy with the AA and he found no help on the J849A runout.

"Good hand," Gaskari said on the way out. Maxime Manzone followed soon after as the field was reduced to the last 82 contenders. Floor staff told players that hand-for-hand mode may come early again similar to Day 1a.

Spencer Takes from Boghean

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Lewis Spencer opened to 20,000 from middle position and Andrei Boghean defended from the big blind.

The flop came 953. Boghean checked, Spencer fired a 21,000 continuation bet, Boghean check-raised to 55,000 and Spencer made the call.

Boghean checked the A turn and Spencer bet 85,000. This time Boghean opted to fold and Spencer took down a healthy pot without showdown.

More Eliminations Close to the Money

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Gold Among the Casualties Before the Money

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Two players were eliminated from table 11 and that included Jamie Gold as well as Anton Smirnov.

According to Bob Mather and other players, Gold got it in with ace-king and his previous nemesis Andrei Boghean won the flop with pocket queens. Mather was then responsible for the knockout of Smirnov and leaped to half a million in chips.

The Long Grind of Papadopoulos Ends Short of the Money

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Kyriakos Papadopoulos had been in the same seat all day long and saw his stack cut down very early on before he grinded it back up for hours. However, it all came to an end when he three-bet jammed with the JJ and Anatoly Filatov took the flip with AK.

The K544K board improved Filatov to kings full of fours.

"I would have had to call, I had an weaker pair," initial preflop raiser Dylan Linde mentioned.

Revah Back on Top after Massive Double

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Eyal Revah
Eyal Revah

Garik Tamasian opened to 16,000 from the cutoff and Eyal Revah three-bet to 52,000 from the button. Tamasian four-bet shoved, covering Revah's remaining stack of 363,000 and Revah snap-called to put himself at risk in a pot worth nearly 1,000,000 chips.

Eyal Revah: KK
Garik Tamasian: 99

The K103 flop gave Revah top set leaving Tamasian with only runner outs to either quads or a straight. The 5 turn and 8 river changed nothing and Revah took down a colossal pot while making a serious dent in Tamasian's stack.

Picone Chips Up; Salas Scores a Knockout

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Damian Salas
Damian Salas

Vitor Dzivielevski raised to 16,000 and earned calls from Karen Nazarian as well as Igor Picone out of the blinds. They checked the J85 flop and Nazarian bet the 4 turn for 20,000. Picone raised to 60,000 for Dzivielevski to fold and Nazarian reluctantly folded, too, with around 130,000 behind.

One hand later, Dzivielevski opened to 16,000 and Ori Eshel moved all-in for 122,000 in the very next seat. Damian Salas asked for a count and called, everyone else folded including Dzivielevski who exposed the AJ.

Ori Eshel: JJ
Damian Salas: AK

The K52 flop left Eshel on thin ice. He found no escape on the 2 turn and 10 river to depart.

Nazarian was then eliminated by Jinhoon Lee and Aram Zobian vanished one table over.

Schonback Chops Then Busts to Kim

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Jinwoo Kim raised to 16,000 and called the short-stacked shove by Schonback with the AQ. He was up against A2 and the 85358 board brought an unlikely showdown.

One hand later, they got it in again as follows.

David Schonback: Q10
Jinwoo Kim: KJ

Both players missed the 63294 board once more, but this time the king played for Kim.

Kristen Foxen and Luis Dono were next to fall right after with the former mentioning she "busted two days in a row around 1 a.m. and got her money's worth".
