Mateos Thrilled to Chop Against Talvitie's Aces
Level 17
: Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Elias Talvitie raised to 200,000 from early position. It then folded to Adrian Mateos on the button who three-bet to 600,000. Once the blinds folded, Talvitie decided to four-bet all in for his stack of 3,950,000. Mateos, who had the exact same amount of chips made the call.
Elias Talvitie: A♥A♣
Adrian Mateos: A♦Q♦
Mateos made the call to setup a a ginormous pot between himself and Talvitie, and once the cards were on their back, saw he would need lots of help to stay in the tournament. The 2♦Q♣K♥ flop gave Mateos outs to crack the aces, and the J♠ on the turn gave him extra chop outs. Mateos was very pleased to see those chop outs came in as the 10♦ hit the river, giving Mateos new life as both players made a Broadway straight.
