Asipauskas Slides Even More

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Rokas Asipauskas limped the small blind and Blaz Zerjav checked his option from the big to see a flop of Q32.

Asipauskas led out for 150,000, Zerjav called, and then both players checked the 4 turn.

When the K completed the board on the river, Asipauskas bet 400,000 and Zerjav responded by making it 1.1 million to go.

Asipauskas burned two time extensions contemplating what to do, and ultimately he flicked his cards to the muck.

Blaz Zerjav raised to 400,000 from the button and Rokas Asipauskas defended the big blind to see a flop of 2QK.

Asipauskas check-called a bet of 300,000 and then checked after the dealer burned and turned the 8.

Zerjav bet 1.2 million and Asipauskas burned his last time extension before calling.

Asipauskas, who had around 4.3 million behind, then checked for a third time after the J completed the board on the river. Zerjav responded by moving all in and Asipauskas snap-called.

Rokas Asipauskas: KQ All in
Blaz Zerjav: 109

Asipauskas confidently tabled his hand first and was left shell-shocked when Zerjav revealed he had hit a gutshot straight on the river.

"Wow," was all Asipauskas could muster as the dealer verified the stacks.

Lei Yu raised to 500,000 on the button before Blaz Zerjav in the big blind three-bet all in for Yu's stack of 4,485,000, which Yu snap called.

Lei Yu: 1010 All in
Blaz Zerjav: AQ

It was a massive flip for Yu's tournament life and he was ahead with his pocket tens. However, after the Q84 flop, Zerjav took the lead and was on the brink of winning his first WSOP bracelet.

Then the board ran out J 9 to improve Yu to a queen-high straight to take the pot and the chip lead.

Triton Million Hands of the Week: Ivey Loses $1,000,000; Brutal Bubble Bustout for Ryan Feldman

Level 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Triton Million Hands of the Week: Ivey Loses $1,000,000; Brutal Bubble Bustout for Ryan Feldman

The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise, which is taking place on Paradise Island in The Bahamas, got off to a big start with the $500,000 buy-in Triton Million, which marked the WSOP's first partnership with Triton Poker.

It was a unique tournament that paired an invitee with a poker pro – each putting up a $500,000 buy-in – and then competing in respective fields on Day 1 before combining on Day 2. The tournament, which was being live reported by PokerNews, featured 74 players (37 pairs) and much to our surprise saw two players get their chips all in on the very first hand of the tournament.

It was a big hand, but just one captured by the PokerNews Live Reporting Team. Here is a look at five other either big or game-changing hands from the Triton Million.

Yu Spikes a Queen on the River to Stay In It

Level 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Lei Yu limped in from the small blind, before Blaz Zerjav raised all in for Yu's stack of 6,275,000. Yu wasted little time and made the call to put himself at risk.

Lei Yu: KQ All in
Blaz Zerjav: A8

It was a fair fight, but Yu would have to improve past the ace high of Zerjav to stay in the tournament. The board ran out 2794Q and Yu hit a queen on the river to double up, and claim the chip lead once more.
