Zhou Bests Addamo Once Again

Level 35 : Blinds 2,500,000/5,000,000, 5,000,000 ante
Yinan Zhou

Michael Addamo opened to 10,000,000 in the hijack with AK and Yinan Zhou called on his left with KQ. The dealer fanned the flop of A107 to give both players something to work with.

Addamo continued with a bet of 11,000,000 and Zhou called to see the J on the turn. Addamo fired out a second barrel of 18,000,000 on the turn but Zhou wasn't going anywhere after making his straight. Zhou made it 45,000,000 and Addamo called.

The river was the 10 and Addamo checked once more. Zhou splashed in a smaller bet of 30,000,000 and Addamo looked him up. Zhou tabled his straight and let out a big yell to his rail as he was awarded the pot and took over the chip lead.

Who Will Walk Away as the Victor in the $25,000 WSOP Super Main Event?

WSOP Super Main Event Final Table
WSOP Super Main Event Final Table

The final day of the 2024 World Series of Poker Paradise has arrived and a champion will be declared in the $25,000 WSOP Super Main Event. A field of 1,978 entries was recorded for the $50 million guaranteed prizepool — the largest ever in the history of poker. That number has been dwindled down to the final nine players who will gather on the feature table stage for the final time today at 12 p.m. local time.

If there is one thing that eight of the nine players don't want to hear, it is that Michael Addamo is the chip leader. However, that will be something they have to overcome as the Australian poker pro holds a distinct advantage with 196,800,000 chips. Addamo has been the front-runner over the last 48 hours and is well on his way to securing another seven-figure payday and possibly the largest of his career. He will also be looking for his fifth WSOP gold bracelet while many others are searching for their first.

Following in his footsteps is German newcomer Christopher Nguyen who has recently been dabbling in the high-stakes scene. With only a few recorded results on the live scene, Nguyen has already secured his best score with this run in The Bahamas. But surprising the poker world with a victory in the largest poker tournament ever would be an early Christmas gift that not even he expected.

Justin Bonomo with three WSOP bracelets and Liv Boeree with one, albeit coming in a tag team event, are the only other players with a piece of jewelry coming into this final table. Although Mustapha Kanit is looking for his first, he could also pass the great Dario Sammartino as #1 on the Italy all-time money list with a win here today.

The rest of the field will be looking to become a household name with a victory here today, along with pocketing the huge first-place prize of $6,000,000. The players are just one elimination away from becoming a millionaire which would be the best result of their career for many of them.

The weather outside is steamy and the action inside is sure to rise to that level when the players sit down under the bright lights. The cards are expected to go in the air just after 12 p.m. local time with roughly 34 minutes remaining in level 33. The blinds will be 1,500,000/3,000,000 with a 3,000,000 big blind ante. The levels will be 60 minutes throughout the course of play with a 15-minute break after every two levels.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on-site to bring you all of the updates as they unfold on a 60-minute delay to remain in sync with the live stream on YouTube.
