Pardy Builds Right Away

Level 4 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Jon Pardy just recently got his seat in the Super Main Event after taking an overnight flight to get here from South America. He wasted little time getting in on the action with a raise to 8,000 from under the gun. Youngsik Eum called on the button and the flop of K33 hit the felt.

Pardy continued with a bet of 12,000 and Eum called to see the 10 on the turn. Pardy unleashed another barrel of 32,000 and Eum still called. The J completed the board and both players tapped the table. Pardy rolled over KQ for kings-up and that was enough to earn the pot.

Heads up on a flop of 4810, Panagiotis Gavriilidis bet 60,000 from the hijack and Victor Chong called in the small blind.

The turn was the 5 and Gavriilidis moved all in for 160,000. Chong snap-called with AA, but Gavriilidis had KQ for a flush.

The 9 fell on the river and Gavriilidis shot out of his seat after Chong improved to the nut flush, letting out a few choice words in his native language before snapping a photo of the board and heading for the exit.

"You know what the odds were of hitting that spade?" tablemate Eric Afriat said to Chong.

"Very low," Chong replied with a smile.
