Ostrander Becomes the First Victim

Level 17 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

There was a raise to 160,000 from under the gun and Francisco Caballo Pena shoved all in for 1,150,000 in the cutoff. Greg Ostrander also pushed all in for his last 650,000 in the big blind, forcing the original raiser out.

Francisco Caballo Pena: AA

The flop came 832 and Ostrander picked up a flush draw to make things a little sweaty. However, the 9 and 7 runout changed nothing and Pena was eliminated.

Boeken Promises

Level 17 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Noah Boeken was all in against the bigger-stacked Joezer Tadger three places off the money.

"It's always miserable," said Boeken.

Hellmuth a Lone Wolf on the Money Bubble

Level 17 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Alex Keating opened to 200,000 in early position and Phil Hellmuth splashed in his last 200,000 on his left. Paulius Vaitiekunas also called in the big blind and the cameras swarmed the table with the potential of Hellmuth being the bubble boy.

The flop came Q52 and the action checked through to the 10 on the turn and the 7 on the river. Keating hinted that he rivered a pair but the cards remained face down until the action was completed at all of the other tables.

Hellmuth turned over AK for just ace-high and Vaitiekunas held 43 for the nut-low. Keating flipped over 76 for a pair of sevens and Hellmuth's Super Main Event came to abrupt end.

There were three other all-in and calls taking place but each of them turned out to be double-ups, much to Scott Seiver's delight.

"Don't split that cash with him!" he could be heard shouting throughout the room.

The remaining 207 players are now guaranteed a piece of the prizepool and will bag up to return for Day 3 tomorrow at 12 p.m. local time.
