The Curse is Over! Guilbert Wins Maiden Bracelet
Johan Guilbert has finally captured the one piece of jewelry that has eluded him for over a decade, winning his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet at WSOP Paradise.
After enduring three heartbreaking runner-up finishes in previous years, Guilbert broke his "heads-up curse" in spectacular fashion by conquering a 287-entry field in the $25,000 GGMillion$ Single Day Turbo for a career-best $1,534,645 payday.
Ironically, the breakthrough came now that Guilbert has transitioned from a full-time grinder to a part-time hobbyist and DJ, proving that sometimes the biggest wins happen only after the pressure of the professional grind has been removed.
