"Live Pro" in Silk Shorts Slow Rolls With a Flush
There's always that one player. Russian high-stakes pro Anatoly Filatov caused quite a commotion as he celebrated a Level 1 double-up.
PokerNews got the hand history from Filatov, who is wearing a blue silk outfit perfect for the tropical weather.
Filatov opened in middle position, and the blinds called, including Jonathan Newman in the small blind.
Filatov continued for 12,000 the flop of Q♠J♠2x and only Newman called. Filatov then sized up to 38,000 on the A♠ turn, and Newman again called.
Filatov fired a third barrel on 106,000 on the blank non-spade river, and Newman raised all in. Filatov claimed he proceeded to "slow roll" his opponent before calling and turning over 8♠7♠ for a flush.
"I'm just a live pro. How could I fold a flush? I was ready to bust, to be honest," the Russian, who seems to be vying for Martin Kabrhel's spot as top poker joker, told PokerNews. "The weather is nice."
However, Filatov may be here for a while as he proceeded to win two straight hands.
