Two Pots for Laak
Level 1
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Phil Laak limped in from the small blind and Roberto Romanello checked his option. Both players checked through to showdown, where Laak's ten-high with 10x7x, was good enough to win on the A♦A♠6♠8♦3♥ board.
On the next deal, Laak made it 6,000 from the button and Pedro Marques defended the big blind. The 8♦4♣3♠ flop checked through to the 5♣ turn. Marques bet 5,000 and was called.
Marques checked the J♣ river, and Laak decided to make a "nit-check" back.
Marques had a pair of threes with 9♥3♥, but Laak's J♦6♦ for a pair of jacks was good for the pot.
