Sturzeneker Gets Lucky to Double

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Iago Sturzeneker
Iago Sturzeneker

Alexander Zubov opened from early position with a raise to 4,000, which was called by Iago Sturzeneker in the cutoff. It folded to Ihor Popyk in the small blind, who then three-bet to 24,000. Zubov folded, and Sturzeneker decided to four-bet all in for his stack of 206,500. Popyk started laughing, shrugged his shoulders and made the call to put Sturzeneker at risk.

Iago Sturzeneker: KQ All in
Ihor Popyk: AK

Popyk had Sturzeneker dominated and stayed in front on the 492 flop. But the Q on the turn put Sturzeneker in the lead, and the 8 on the river gave him the double up with his pair of queens.

Parker Coolered Straight Away

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Tony Parker
Tony Parker

Kyle Carlston opened to 3,000 from the hijack, and Tony Parker — playing his first hand — three-bet to 7,000 from the small blind. Carlston made it 20,000 and Parker called.

Parker led out for 20,000 on the KJ2 flop, and Carlston called.

Parker fired out another 50,000 on the Q turn, and quickly called when Carlston shoved for 144,500.

Kyle Carlston: KKAll in
Tony Parker: JJAll in

Parker had middle set but ran into the superior set of kings on the cooler flop. The 8 river completed the board and Carlston doubled through the Hall of Famer.

Level 2 : Blinds 1,000/1,000, 1,000 ante

Matas Cikinas raised to 3,000 from the hijack and was called by the big blind Iago Sturzeneker.

Both players checked the 94K flop, to see the Q on the turn. Sturzeneker then check-called a bet of 3,000 from Cikinas.

After the A on the turn, Sturzeneker check-called another bet from Cikinas, this time for 11,000. Cikinas tabled A8 which was good to take the pot as Sturzeneker mucked.
