Sturzeneker Calls Moncek in Pot of the Tournament

Level 26 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Michael Moncek
Michael Moncek

Iago Sturzeneker opened to 1,200,000 from under the gun and Michael Moncek defended the big blind.

Moncek check-called for 2,000,000 on the 974 flop before the 7 turn checked through to the K river. Moncek, after some thought, jammed as the big stack.

The final table atmosphere had been akin to a home game, but the room fell silent as Sturzeneker went deep into the tank. Several time banks were sent the dealers way, and after around two minutes, Sturzeneker chucked in a calling chip.

Moncek windmilled 86 onto the table, showing a busted straight draw. Sturzeneker let out a little silent celebration, tabling K10 for kings and sevens to retake the chip lead.
