Aces Catapults Boivin to the Chip Lead

Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 50,000 from the hijack, which was called by Clemen Deng in the cutoff. It then folded to Thomas Boivin in the big blind, who put in a three-bet to 300,000. Thorel made the call, and Deng folded.

The flop came 2♠3♠6♠ and Boivin checked to Thorel who moved all-in for 175,000 and Boivin called.

It was the pocket aces of Boivin not long before this hand that left Thorel short, and he would need lots of help to crack them this time. But the 5♠ gave Thorel hope with chop outs as neither player held a club, but the 2♦ river sealed Thorel's fate as he was sent packing, and Boivin overtakes the chip lead.

The flop came 3♦10♠A♦ and it was checked to Kaladjurdjevic who bet out 30,000. Kulev then put in a raise to 95,000, which got Thorel to fold, and Kaladjurdjevic made the call.

After the J♥ on the turn, Kulev moved all-in and was called by Kaladjurdjevic for his stack of 265,000, putting himself at risk.

Negreanu checked the 10♠10♦9♥ flop, and Sternheimer took some time before checking back. The 7♦ turn saw Negreanu lead out for 65,000, and Sternheimer made the call.

Negreanu slowed down with a check on the 10♣ river, sending his cards into the muck after Sternheimer fired a bet of 75,000 to take the pot.

Both players checked the 6♦9♦2♦ flop, which brought the J♦ on the turn. Hrabec then bet out 35,000, before Mateos raised to 140,000, and Hrabec made the call.

After the Q♣ on the river, Hrabec checked, and Mateos bet 265,000, leaving just 5,000 behind. Hrabec then moved all-in, and Mateos was forced to fold and give the pot to Hrabec.

Shortly after the hand, Mateos was eliminated, as was Santhosh Suvarna who was seen leaving the tournament area.

The flop came 9♥Q♣5♦ and after Andrade checked, Ye bet 60,000. Hook folded, Mokri called, and Andrade folded as well.

Heads-up now, the turn brought the K♠ and Wang decided to check-call a bet of 175,000 from Mokri.

The river was the 3♠ and after Wang checked, Mokri bet all in for Wang's stack of 435,000, and was called. Mokri tabled K♣Q♦ for two pair, while Wang tossed A♥A♦ in the muck and was eliminated.

Also seen leaving the tournament area after being eliminated was Nacho Barbero.
