Macchia Hand Goes from Almost Killed to the Nuts

Level 8 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Alex Foxen raised to 8,500 from middle position and was called by Michael Macchia in the hijack. Then, the player in the cutoff mucked their hand, but one card came close to Macchia cards, and there was a debate about what should happen next. The floor came over, they were able to confirm the correct card that should have been mucked, and action continued.

It then folded to Brandon Steven in the big blind who called as well.

The flop came 6910 and all three players checked to the J on the turn. Steven then bet out 23,000, which both Foxen and Macchia called.

After the 4 on the river, it was checked to Macchia who bet out 54,000. Steven gave it some thought before mucking, as did Foxen, to give the pot to Macchia.

As he scooped the pot he said "Thank you for not killing this hand" and showed KQ for the nuts with a straight.
