Event #9: $100,000 Triton Main Event
Day 1 Completed
Day 1 of the $100,000 Triton Poker Main Event at the World Series of Poker Paradise (WSOPP), held at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas, is now complete. As the last Triton event of the series, the Main naturally drew a lot of attention and brought out many of the biggest names in the poker world. Day 1 saw a total of 199 entries, with 102 players bagging up for Day 2.
Leading the field into Day 2 is Ye Wang, who climbed to the top of the counts after scoring a late double-up with a turned set of queens against Sean Winter in one of the final hands of the night.
Close behind is Daniel Rezaei, who jumped into the Main Event shortly after finishing 9th in the $125,000 Triton 7-Handed NLH Event for $310,000. Then just behind Rezaei in third sits Sergio Aido, continuing what has been a strong stretch for him this series. Aido backed up his recent $1,320,000 score for a 7th-place finish in the $250,000 Triton Invitational by building yet another big stack to carry into Day 2.

Day 1 Action
Tons of big names and notable faces were in the field on Tuesday, and the action was fast right from the start. With unlimited rebuys available, players weren’t shy about mixing it up early. Several well-known pros hit the rail in the opening levels, including Adrian Mateos, who bluffed off his stack to Corey Kempson. Paulius Vaitiekunas was another early casualty after a hero call gone wrong, and Alex Kulev saw his full house fall to an even bigger one held by Seth Davies. Mateos and Vaitiekunas both managed to bounce back and find a bag for Day 2 on their next bullets.
Among the other notables advancing to Day 2 is Daniel Negreanu (545,000) — although just barely. His tournament stayed alive after cracking pocket kings when he got the money in with top pair on a queen-high flop and rivered another queen to double up, allowing him to hang on through the rest of the night.
Also returning for Day 2 are several accomplished pros, including Alex Foxen (939,000), Isaac Haxton (617,000), Nick Schulman (576,000), and Jesse Lonis (418,000).
Then there’s Martin Kabrhel, who continues to ride a strong series after finishing 3rd in the $125,000 Triton 7-Handed NLH Event for $1,510,000. He, too, will return for Day 2 — even if he didn’t get the table change he was hoping for.
Late registration will remain open until the start of Day 2, giving players one final chance to enter the field. Several big names will need to consider that option after failing to bag, including Jonathan Little, [/PLAYER], Invitational winner Kayhan Mokri Bryn Kenney, and Seth Davies.
Action picks back up at 1 p.m. local time in level 11 at the 5,000/10,000(10,000) blind levels, where the field is expected to play down to a final table. You can follow full live updates throughout the day right here on PokerNews.

Chip counts and recap to follow shortly.
Michael Moncek opened to 16,000 second to act before [Removed:564] three-bet to 55,000 from the hijack. Moncek shoved as the bigger stack and [Removed:565] called off his stack of 292,000. Moncek was in trouble with 3♠3♣, while [Removed:565] had J♥J♦. [Removed:565] doubled after the A♠K♥7♥Q♥Q♣ runout.
Shortly after, Hugo Machado made it 16,000 from the hijack. Cary Katz called from the small blind before Moncek jammed for 182,000. Machado folded and then Katz committed his stack of 149,000. Moncek was behind once again, holding K♣9♥ while Katz had A♠2♠. Moncek paired up on the 9♠8♥7♣3♦8♠ board to down Katz.
Moncek and [Removed:565] tangled once again when Moncek jammed for 355,000 from the small blind. [Removed:565] watsed little time in calling from the big blind.
Michael Moncek: J♥8♣
[Removed:564]: A♠K♥
Moncek had little hope after the A♣A♥10♠ flop, and was drawing dead on the 6♠ turn before the 7♦ completed the board.

Biao Ding opened to 18,000 before Philip Sternheimer made it 56,000 from the button. Ding jammed for 518,000 and was snap-called by Sternheimer, who had 494,000.
Philip Sternheimer: A♠A♦
Biao Ding: K♠K♣
Ding made a set on the K♦6♥4♥ flop to take the unlikely lead and he hit the one million chip mark after the 10♥5♦ completed the board.

Adrian Mateos raised to 16,000 from middle position, and when it folded to Daniel Dvoress on the button, he three-bet all in for his stack of 114,000. It folded back to Mateos who made the call to put Dvoress at risk.
Daniel Dvoress: A♠Q♦
Adrian Mateos: K♥10♥
It was a fair fight, with Dvoress ahead with his ace high, and when the board ran out Q♣A♣K♦9♣6♦ he improved to two pair to secure the double up.
