Moncek Runs Into It

Level 10 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Michael Moncek
Michael Moncek

Michael Moncek opened to 16,000 second to act before Jans Arends three-bet to 55,000 from the hijack. Moncek shoved as the bigger stack and Arends called off his stack of 292,000. Moncek was in trouble with 33, while Arends had JJ. Arends doubled after the AK7QQ runout.

Shortly after, Hugo Machado made it 16,000 from the hijack. Cary Katz called from the small blind before Moncek jammed for 182,000. Machado folded and then Katz committed his stack of 149,000. Moncek was behind once again, holding K9 while Katz had A2. Moncek paired up on the 98738 board to down Katz.

Moncek and Arends tangled once again when Moncek jammed for 355,000 from the small blind. Arends watsed little time in calling from the big blind.

Michael Moncek: J8All in
Jans Arends: AK

Moncek had little hope after the AA10 flop, and was drawing dead on the 6 turn before the 7 completed the board.
