Lee Watkinson Doubles Up

In a four-way hand with about 33,000 already in the pot before the flop, Lee Watkinson moves all in for 32,100 more. Well, almost all in. He still has the 100 chip he had been using as a card cap. Tim Phan thinks for a while and then folds, the next player calls, and the fourth player folds. Since Watkinson still has a single chip, no cards are shown.

The flop comes {K-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, and Phan reacts with disgust, as if he threw away what would now be a great hand. But Watkinson and his opponent check it all the way down, and the last two cards are {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Watkinson shows {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}, and his opponent shrugs and shows {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Watkinson takes the entire 97,000 pot.

70 Players Gone in One Level: Slowdown Coming

Do not expect this pace to last; the big stacks are growing bigger. The over/under right now is whether we will get all of the players into the Fontana Room by the end of Level 10 this evening. That would make the betting line 240 players remaining at the end of today and the smart money is taking the over.

Average Stack is 79K.

Big Pot

Wei Kai Chang and Michael Gracz were involved in a big pot. The flop was{A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{2-Clubs} but the chips did not go all-in until the {4-Hearts} fell on the turn. The river was the {8-Diamonds}. Michael showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} but Wei Kai held the{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for the winning set and a 135K pot. Wei Kai had 49K and Michael had him covered.
