Phil Hellmuth Loses a Pot -- And His Temper

Phil Hellmuth raised under the gun to 20,000, Shawn Buchanan reraised to more than 50,000 from the cutoff, and Hellmuth called. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, Hellmuth quickly checked, Buchanan bet 120,000, and Hellmuth called. The turn card was the {7-Diamonds}, and both players checked. The river card was the {9-Clubs}, and they checked again.

Hellmuth announces that he has a pair of sixes, but Buchanan shows K-7 for a pair of sevens. Hellmuth slammed down his A-6, and the fireworks began.

Hellmuth started ranting, really berating Buchanan for the play, constantly repeating that he basically bluffed 200,000 against one of the best players in the world. He says several other things, like "You were drawing dead," while bemused bystanders and fellow players say things like, "Who's stacking the chips, Phil?"

We'll have to wait and see whether or not Hellmuth is on tilt, but luckily for him, he has plenty of chips to weather this storm.
