Mizzi Lays Out Layani

Sorel Mizzi opened UTG to 4,500, and Jonathan Layani three-bet to 16,000. Not one to be out-done, Mizzi slid a 25k plaque and some chips into the center making it 49,000 straight. Layani went deep into the tank before finally sliding in enough chips to make the call.

The flop dropped {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Mizzi quietly said, "all-in." Layani, reluctantly made the call only to see he was in bad shape with his pocket tens against Mizzi's {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. The turn was the {q-Spades}, and the river the {9-Diamonds} sending Layani to the rail and his 80,000 or so in chips over to Mizzi's already swollen stack.

Play has concluded for the night, and the final eight players will return back to the Aviation Club de France tomorrow at 3 p.m. to play down to the money, and to a WPT Grand Prix de Paris High-Roller Champion.
