Yaiche Cracks Jaka's Aces

Basil Yaiche cracks Faraz Jaka's aces
Basil Yaiche cracks Faraz Jaka's aces

When we arrived at the table, the board read {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}. {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} was laying in front of Basil Yaiche, and Faraz Jaka was cutting out stacks of chips.

Tablemate Jason Mercier was kind enough to fill us in on the details of the hand, and it all started with a min-raise from Mercier. Yaiche called on his left, Jaka three-bet to 7,200, and the action folded back to Yaiche who four-bet to 14,400. Jaka moved all in, Yaiche snapped it off, and Jaka tabled two aces.

The rest is history.

Yaiche, who started the day as one of the leaders, is back above six-figures, while Jaka has just over 11 big blinds.

Petit Busts Opponent

Justin Bonomo opened to 2,000 from the cutoff, a second player three-bet to 5,500 on the button, and Thomas Petit cold four-bet to 12,600 from the small blind. Bonomo quickly folded, and the player on the button tanked a bit before moving all in.

Petit's eyes grew, and he checked his cards one last time before calling and tabling two black aces. His opponent sighed and turned over two queens.

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Spades}, and Petit now has 90,000 chips.

Lellouche Flops Nuts, Busts Seiver

Scott Seiver (Day 1b) - Eliminated
Scott Seiver (Day 1b) - Eliminated

Scott Seiver was faced with a preflop raise to 2,000. He called near the button, Lellouche called in the blinds, and the flop fell {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. The action checked to the original raiser, who slid out a continuation bet of 2,700, and Seiver moved all in for around 20,000. Lellouche flat-called, the original raiser released, and the hands were opened.

Showdown
Seiver: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Lellouche: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Seiver didn't fill up on the turn ({2-Spades}) or the river ({3-Spades}), and he was eliminated.

Lellouche is now our overwhelming chip leader, and is flirting with 300,000 chips.

Coranson Eliminated, Forced to Show Losing Hand

Fred Coranson was faced with a 14,400-chip bet from Jean-Philippe Rohr with the board reading {4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Coranson called, and the {7-Clubs} completed the board.

Rohr announced "all in" in French, sending Coranson into the tank. Coranson eventually called, and Rohr tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} for top-top. Coranson, who was eliminated, was then forced to show his hand ({k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}) before exiting the room.

Rohr is now above 100,000 chips.
