Markus Ross opened to 23,000 from early position, and Nuri Kural moved in for a measly 38,000. Sofia Lövgren, extremely short herself with about 50,000, thought about it, but folded in the end. Ross made the call as he was priced in.
Ross:
Kural:
Ross was far behind, but the flop (), turn () ánd river () all helped him tremendously.
Marco Della Tommasina opened under the gun for 20,000, and next door neighbor Serdar Sağlam made the call. Igor Devkin squeezed to 67,000 from the cutoff, and action folded to Sağlam. The Turkish player made the call and they were of to see a flop.
Sağlam checked to Devkin, and called as his Russian opponent bet 60,000.
Sağlam checked again, and called the 189,000 shove that followed.
Sağlam:
Devkin:
"Good luck" said Devkin. "Good luck to you" said Sağlam full of confidence.
The fell on the river and Sağlam handed over the necessary chips.
Dmitry Bayramov open shoved his last 100,000 in with king-jack, and Antonio Buonanno made the call with pocket eights. No king or jack to be seen, and Bayramov made his exit in 30th place.
We missed the pre flop action, but we imagine it went something like raise from Buonanno from under the gun plus one, call from Evgeny Starikov on the button, call from Oliver Price in the small blind.
Price checked to Buonanno on , and the Italian chip leader followed his pre flop aggression up with a 35,000 continuation bet. Starikov made the call, but Price had bigger plans. The Brit check raised to 80,000 and action was back on Buonanno. He announced all in, and Starikov was quick to lay down his hand. Price double checked his hand, called, and was all in for a 1.2 million pot.
Oliver Price:
Antonio Buonanno:
The 120 big blind pot was sure to go to Price as soon as the on the turn hit. The fell on the river to make things official, and in one of the first hands Buonanno handed half his stack to Price, who's now the chip leader.
It's not really hard to find either, the players are already known. It's just that there's 30 of them, while the final table will consist of 6 players. Today will most likely be a long day, and PokerNews will again be your primary source of information, with all the big hands, the set ups, the coolers, the brilliantly played hands, and the dusted off stacks.
Antonio Buonanno is leading right now with 1,175,000 in chips. Not even that close on his heels are Serdar Sağlam (800,000), Christner (721,000), Alexander Lakhov (641,000), [Removed:2] (628,000), Oliver Price (626,000) and Toby Lewis (617,000). A lot of familiar names still left in the tournament, who can get to that big final table.
$310,000 awaits the winner, but that cheque (and accompanying trophy and $15,400 WPT World Championships ticket) will be awarded tomorrow. The fourth day starts in an hour, so check back soon!
