Spittles Doubles with Aces

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

There were about 2,300 chips in the middle on a flop of {3-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {2-Spades} and Ryan Spittles was all in for his last 8,300 chips with {A-Clubs} {A-Spades}. Michel Leigborin, who had re-entered a while ago, made the call with {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} for the flush draw. Neither the {3-Clubs} turn nor the {Q-Clubs} river changed anything and the Brit doubled up.

The Watto Must Let Go

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Steve Watts raised to 400 and the player on the button called, one seat over the player in the small blind clicked it to 1,500. Both opponents called and the player in the small blind then bet 2,500 on the {2-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} flop. Watts called one barrel but folded the {10-Diamonds} turn when faced by a bet of 5,050.

Soulier Upsets Opponent

Level 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

After a raise preflop, Fabrice Soulier received three callers and then bet the flop of {2-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} for 1,200. One opponent called, another raised to 3,200 and only the Frenchman tossed in the extra chips. The {A-Clubs} on the turn was checked by both players and then Soulier got his last 13,000 chips paid off on the {10-Spades} river.

His opponent had flopped a set of deuces, but Soulier had spiked the better set with {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}.

Laming with the Hammer

Level 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

Daniel Laming raised to 500 from under the gun and was called by Revaz Gujabidze and one further player before an opponent in late position three-bet to 1,500 with around 10,000 behind. Enver Khvitia clicked it to 3,700 in the small blind and Laming checked the stacks of his opponents before throwing in five T-5,000 chips. Everyone got out of the way and the Brit claimed the pot.

From what we can gather on the table of Charles Chattha, the Brit bluffed away his stack against Ghassan El Hoss and is among the recently eliminated players.

Aces for Kürschner

Level 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

Matthias Kürschner called a four-bet preflop to 2,500 on the button and his opponent Aleksandar Denishev then bet 2,100 on the {K-Spades} {10-Hearts} {6-Clubs} flop. Kürschner called and both checked the {9-Spades} on the turn. With the {8-Diamonds} making an appearance on the river, Denishev fired 4,500 and the German gave it some thought before making the call.

Denishev tapped the table to declare defeat before turning over {A-Spades} {J-Hearts} and Kürschner revealed {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} as winning hand.

The Third Seat Open

Level 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

The screens just indicated that 133 out of 136 players remain for Day 1b and it appears to be Michel Leigborin, who has joined the rail recently. It is only the third seat open in almost three hours of play.

Spittles hit by Troyanovskiy

Level 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

Ryan Spittles raised from middle position and and called the three-bet of Vladimir Troyanovskiy to 1,800. On the {9-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {2-Hearts} flop, the Brit check-called a bet of 4,000 and then check-called the all in of Troyanovskiy for 14,000 after the {7-Clubs} turn. Spittles had {Q-Spades} {10-Clubs} but was already drawing dead to the {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} of the Russian. The meaningless {4-Spades} on the river didn't matter anymore.
