Welcome to Day 3 of the 2014 partypoker World Poker Tour Event in Nottingham!

WPT Nottingham
WPT Nottingham

Just 51 players remain of the initial 354 that entered this £3,000 re-entry event. However, six unlucky players will come back for the third day only to leave with nothing as only 45 spots are getting paid. Leading the way is Adrian Mateos, the Spaniard finishing last night with 560,500 having also led on Day 1a and started Day 2 second overall. Other players still involved are David Peters, Antoine Saout, Jake Cody and Chris Moorman - it's a veritable smorgasbord of poker talent.

The tournament begins at 1pm local time and the plan today is to play down to the final 18 players, which is expected to take between four and five levels.

On the third hand of hand-for-hand play, Ian Simpson moved all in for his final 37,000 preflop over the top of a David Peters raise. With all the other hands finished, a crowd formed around the table as the hands were opened.

Peters: {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Simpson: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

"I love a sweat!" said a smiling Simpson.

The flop came {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{A-Spades} to groans from the rail but the {9-Spades} on the turn gave some chop outs. Simpson called for spades but the river was the {6-Hearts} making Peters two pair to win the pot.

Everyone else is now in the money and guaranteed £6,000.

Five Minutes of Madness

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Tamer Kamel
Tamer Kamel

An utterly extraordinary five minutes of poker has seen two hands, three exits and a sheer mountain of chips for Tamer Kamel.

In the first hand Kamel opened to 10,000 preflop and Suketu Patel called before Antonio Buonanno made it 35,000 in the big blind. Kamel and Patel both called to see a {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop.

Buonanno bet 35,000, Kamel called and then Patel also called to see the {A-Hearts} on the turn. Buonanno fired 100,000 this time and Kamel called again before Patel decided to shove for 280,000. Buonanno called then Kamel moved in for just over 400,000 in total and Buonanno called that as well.

Buonanno: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Patel: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Kamel: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

Kamel was genuinely delighted to see his two opponents only had three outs between them. The river came and it was the {10-Spades}. Patel was out, Buonanno was left with 240,000 and Kamel suddenly had 1,350,000.

But that wasn't the end of it.

The very next hand saw Ben Winsor move all in for 80,500 from early position. Kamel flat-called behind him and it was passed to Buonanno in the small blind who also called.

The flop was {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} and Buonanno moved all in, Kamel called instantly.

Buonanno: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Kamel: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Winsor: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The {4-Hearts} turn and {A-Clubs} river changed nothing and Buonanno went from chip leader to out. Kamel has 1.7 million chips, that's average for the final table.

Peters Busts on the Break

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
David Peters
David Peters

David Peters opened to 11,000 in early position and Antoine Saout made it 28,000 in middle position. Peters called to see a {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{J-Diamonds} flop and check-called a bet of 35,000 from the Frenchman.

Both players checked the {10-Diamonds} turn and Peters fired 56,000 on the {8-Diamonds} river. Saout moved all in and Peters tanked well into the break before making the call.

Saout showed {Q-Spades}{9-Spades} for a rivered straight and a disgusted Peters threw his {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} straight into the muck face up and left the table.

Patryk Slusarek Eliminated in 22nd Place (£8,000)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Patryk Slusarek
Patryk Slusarek

Patryk Slusarek opened to 17,000 preflop and called Fraser Macintyre's three-bet to 37,000. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Slusarek check-raised Macintyre's 36,000 bet to 105,000. Macintyre shoved and Slusarek called.

Slusarek: {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Macintyre: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

Macintyre was bluffing but he was still ahead and the {K-Clubs} turn and {5-Clubs} changed nothing, giving the Scot the pot.
