Swillens Chops with Blikslager

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

On a {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop we saw Ruben Blikslager check-call a bet of 4,000 after which the turn brought the {7-Diamonds}. This time both players checked and on the river the {9-Spades} completed the board.

Blikslager lead out for 7,000 on the river and Swillens tanked for a bit before making the call. Blikslager tabled {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for king high and Swillens quickly showed his {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} to claim half of the pot.

Hiatullah Takes a Beating

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Sabina Hiatullah just lost half of her stack, and we caught the action on the turn when the board read {7-Clubs}{K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}. All the chips between her and her opponent went into the pot and Hiatullah showed {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a set against {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

The river brought the {J-Hearts} and Hiatullah managed to hit a straight. The German player was left behind with 40,000 chips which is a lot less than she was hoping for at this point in the tournament.

More For Wuyts

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

After we lost Freerk Post early on we just also lost his brother Zeus. Over on the feature table things didn't go Zeus' way, as the action went as following.

Post ended up all in before the flop holding {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} and he was up against Wuyts' {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{A-Hearts} and Post was eliminated late on Day 1a.

Thomas Brader was moved to the feature table after this hand.

Not Jonker's Day

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Our colleagues just witnessed a very crazy hand and he was kind enough to share with us the details. Patrick van Rietschoten raised to 4,000 followed by a call from Salvatore Crapanzano, after which Jimmy Jonker three-bet to 11,000. Both players called and all three saw the {4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{Q-Spades} flop.

Crapanzano opted to move all in right away for 77,3000 and with 35,000 chips in the pot Jonker went into the tank. Jonker called and Van Rietschoten folded creating a heads-up showdown.

Jonker: {Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Crapanzano: {J-Spades}{8-Spades}

Jonker was well ahead after making a very nice call, but the {8-Diamonds} on the turn gave his opponent three of a kind. The river was a blank and Jonker hit the rail while Crapanzano now sits on around 190,000 chips.
