Two Big Pots go Wei's Way

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Mian Wei has the chip lead once more after winning two sizeable pots in quick succession to leave his Spanish opponent rattled.

The first saw Mario Sanchez Cano check-call a bet of 55,000 on the {4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, then check the {3-Clubs} turn before check-calling a 150,000 bet on the {Q-Spades} river only to much when shown Wei's {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

The second saw him pay off a large 225,000 bet on the river, only to muck and look to the heavens when Wei showed {Q-}{10-} that had improved to a straight on the river.

Momentum is With Mario

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

While there haven't been many large pots of note, Mario Sanchez Cano seems the more composed of the heads-up duo, as you would be had you been six cards away from falling in second place.

Sanchez now holds a 1.7 million to 900,000 chip lead and the ball is firmly in his court.

What a Difference a Hand Makes

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Mian Wei had been dominating proceedings heads-up and had whittled Mario Sanchez Cano down to 609,000 chips. However, Sanchez is back in business after his {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} stayed ahead to bead Wei's {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} with the five community cards falling {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

Steven Warburton Eliminated in Third Place (£40,000)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Steve Warburton
Steve Warburton

The High Roller is heads-up following the elimination of Steven Warburton.

Before the last break, Warburton doubled Mario Sanchez Cano and it turned out this came back to haunt him as Sanchez sent him to the rail.

Warburton was all-in with {K-Spades}{5-Spades} and Sanchez looked him up with {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, a final board reading {Q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} nd Warburton was gone.

Warburton Doubles

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Steven Warburton doubled up when his {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} prevailed against Mian Wei's {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} with the final board reading {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Warburton is back in business.

Mian Leads the Wei (full)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Mian Wei is the man to catch, while Steven Warburton has a lot of work to do to overturn a massive chip deficit.
