Day 1b Started
At 1 p.m. local time, cards will be back in the air for the second and — presumably — bigger starting day of the 2018 WPTDeepStacks Marrakech Main Event. Yesterday saw 53 out of 161 players make their way through, including Kalidou Sow and Tobias Peters. The current chipleader is Yves Rolland, who bagged the overnight lead with 212,500.
Like the first day, Day 1b will feature twelve levels of 40 minutes each, with a 15-minute break after every three levels. A 75-minute dinner break will be held after level 9 and players can enter and reenter up until the start of level 10. Players will get 30,000 in chips to work with to try and capture WPTDeepStacks gold.
PokerNews will cover the event in the stunning Es Saadi Resort start to finish so don't go anywhere as we get closer to crowning a new champion!

Diego Gomez' cards were already tabled, showing in front of him on a board. A queen-high flush, and a hand Philippe Dabrowksi couldn't match as his hand was face-down in the muck.
Gomez, a fixture on the European circuit with nearly 500k in lifetime cashes, was all in for 18,000 on the river and Dabrowksi had to part with that amount.

Coming from The Netherlands, Danny van Zijp has traveled along with Tobias Peters to discover Marrakech, but his first taste of the WPTDeepStacks Main Event turned out pretty sour when the Dutchman became the first to hit the rail.
Action was on the turn with around 8,500 in the middle with the board reading . Van Zijp bet 5,100, Kamal Sefrioui check-raised all in for over 30,000 and Van Zijp called for his tournament life.

Kamal Sefrioui:
The river kept Van Zijp's hand second best and he departed the tournament area. The Dutchman has until the start of level 10 if he decided to reenter.
