Messouat Joins the Chip Leaders

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

A player opened and Roger Tondeur three-bet to 3,500. Zahir Messouat had obviously seen an opportunity and shoved all in for around 50,000. The initial raiser folded and Tondeur called for around starting stack.

"I usually win with this hand," said Tondeur showing {q-Spades}{10-Spades} but was up against the {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} of Messouat.

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

"Well," said Tondeur. "I didn't win this time!"

Nenufar Bests Messouat and El Arja

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

On a {8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{q-Spades} board a player checked and Badr El Arja bet 2,700. There was a call from big stack Zahir Messouat before Nenufar raised to 20,000.

The first player folded, as did El Arja after some thought. Messouat flung his cards into the muck and Nenufar won the pot.

"Two queens," said El Arja but Nenufar showed {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for two pair. "I had a queen" said El Arja.

El Yousfi Value-Bets His House

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

The full board of {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{a-Hearts} was out between Said El Yousfi and another opponent. El Yousfi was out of position in the small blind, against his opponent who was sitting on the button.

El Yousfi looked at his opponent's stack, and seeing they had around 17,000 behind, opted to bet 3,000 into a pot of around 10,000. His opponent quickly called but El Yousfi showed {4-Clubs}{5-Hearts} prompting his opponent to slam his cards angrily into the muck.

A player at the table tapped the edge of the table in recognition of the hand, with the losing player glaring at him.
